AIR CONDITIONING & HEAT Cedarbay Hideaway has central air and heat. The thermostat is on the wall just outside the bedrooms. On chilly mornings, enjoy additional heat from our electric fireplace.

BEACH A seven-minute walk brings you to the wide, beautiful beaches of the Delaware Bay. The nearest access is at Broadway and Bay Drive: Exit the house, make a right and walk 1.5 blocks to Bay Drive (dead-end). Make a right and continue toward Broadway. The public beach path will open to your left. At the Delaware Bay beaches you can swim, fish, kayak, SUP and bring your pups, year-round, and the sunsets are absolutely legendary. Need some time in the ocean? The beaches of Wildwood (free) and Cape May (badges required) are about 10 minutes away.

BED & LINENS  You’ll find a queen bed in our principal bedroom and two queens in our second bedroom. The living room sofa also converts to a queen bed. All linens and pillows provided for your stay. Find extras in the second bedroom closet, along with firm pillows (flowered pillowcases) in the primary bedroom closet.

BOCCE Consider yourself an honorary member of the Cedarbay Bocce Society! Bocce balls are in the Game Garage. Please return them when you’re finished playing.

EMERGENCIES  Cedarbay Hideaway is equipped with carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. If there is an alarm please exit the house immediately and call 911. There is a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and a first aid kit under the bathroom sink. The nearest urgent care is AtlanticCare Urgent Care in Cape May (6 miles), and the nearest hospital is Cape Regional in Cape May Courthouse (13 miles).

ESSENTIALS  For your convenience and delight, we stock the Cedarbay Hideaway with: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, olive oil, salt, pepper, sugar, stevia, caffeinated and herbal teas, toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, tissues, dish soap, hand soap, laundry products and general cleaning supplies.

FIRE PIT  After using the backyard firepit, please scoop and dispose of ash. Firewood is BYO.

GAME GARAGE Ping pong, cornhole and darts await in our converted garage. In the summer, this is also where you’ll find beach chairs and bikes. The key to the garage is hanging on a hook next to the sliding glass doors in the rear of the house. It has a blue sailor’s knot keychain. Please be sure to lock the garage when not in use and return the key to the hook at the end of your stay.

GRILL  Propane is based on an honor system. If the tank runs our during your stay, please exchange it for a full tank. Ace Hardware at Bayshore Road and Wildwood Avenue is the nearest place, just a few blocks from the house. Note: Grill is not available in winter.

GUESTBOOK  Please sign our guestbook, located on the tray on the coffee table, before departure.

ICE The fridge does not have a built-in ice-maker, but we do have a countertop one located directly next to the fridge. You may find the ice-maker running when you arrive to get you started, but if not, just add water to the basin, click POWER and selected small (S) or large (L) cubes. It will continue to make ice until it (1) runs out of water or (2) the ice basket is full.

KEYPAD  Cedarbay Hideaway is equipped with a keypad on the front door. We’ll provide the code the day before check-in. To open the front door, enter the code then turn the locking mechanism (the part with the keyhole) 45 degrees to the right to disengage the deadbolt. To lock from the front door from the outside, pull the door tightly toward you, enter the code, then turn the locking mechanism 45 degrees to the left to engage the deadbolt. You must pull the door tightly toward you otherwise the deadbolt will not line up with the doorframe. If you have any issues, don’t panic! We have a back-up key in the lockbox, located inside the gate by the driveway, and can provide that code if needed.

LAUNDRY  Feel free to use the washer and dryer during your stay! Detergent, fabric softener, bleach and dryer sheets are all in the pantry closet. Kindly add each liquid detergent into its proper compartment in the drawer on the top-left of the washer. When finished with a load of wash, please leave the washer door open so any remaining condensation can air-dry. Do not overload the washer or dryer.

QUIET TIME  You don’t have to go to bed at 10 PM, but out of respect for our neighbors, please keep music low and keep conversations to a normal talking volume if you’re hanging out outside.

PETS  We have three dogs of our own and know how hard (and expensive) it is to travel without them! Which is why we welcome well-behaved dogs of any size at Cedarbay Hideaway. If you’re traveling with your very good boy or girl, we’ll provide the dishes and bed. Some important things to note:

  • When guests are outside or off-property, dogs must be crated or caged.

  • Pets are not permitted in pool.

  • Please scoop and dispose of all poop during your stay

  • If you have a large dog (or a jumper), the fences around the property are waist-high. Our neighbors have dogs, as well.

  • For guests staying in fall: The mushrooms (red with white spots) that sometimes sprout in the fallen pine needles in the front of the yard by the bocce court can be toxic to animals and humans if ingested. Make sure children (with four and two paws) keep away.

  • The treats in the jar are Blue Buffalo bacon, egg-and-cheese flavored helath bars. If your pup has a sensitive stomach or allergies, you can check the full ingredient list here.

POOL Enjoy our 15-foot above-ground pool from late May to early October. The pool is cleaned and its chemical rebalanced weekly by our team at All-In Pool Care, typically on Wednesdays around noon though this may fluctuate. Aaron and his team will enter the yard from the driveway gate. You may need to exit the pool for cleaning, after which you can resume use in an hour. Please note use of the pool is at your own risk. For guests traveling with kids, we strongly recommend keeping the ladder closed when not being used. To close the ladder cover, stand firmly on the bottom rung (level with the ground) and pull the cover down by the handle. It will slide over the rungs like a garage door.

TOWELS & ROBES Our custom waffle-knit robes are hanging in each of the bedroom closets. There are face towels in each bathroom and washcloths in the main bathroom. Bath towel and bath sheets are stocked in the second bedroom closet, along with beach towels (green striped). Before checking out, please be sure to wash and dry all towels and robes you’ve used during your stay. Do not overload the washer or dryer.

TRASH & RECYCLING  Rinsed recyclables and bagged trash go into the large cans in the backyard. Please bring them to curb on Monday nights to be collected Tuesday.

TV Roku TVs in the living room and second bedroom give you access to all your favorite streaming platforms. Don’t forget to sign out of your accounts before departure. There is no cable.
